In the density range 1.58 s.g. – 2.1 s.g. / 13.2 – 17.5 ppg cesium formate is normally blended with potassium formate brine. In addition to lowering fluid cost, the use of blends minimises the brine’s water content and provides improved fluid properties over diluted cesium formate brine.

Cesium formate can also be blended with sodium formate for unusual applications where the presence of potassium ions needs to be minimised.
